Dwayne and Rita Hanon, a mature Christian couple,
have been married since 1959, have 2 married children and 6 grandchildren.
From 1978 to 2006 they were very active lay leaders in their non-denominational church fellowship, Elmbrook Church, in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Dwayne has been active in men's ministry, Top Gun Leadership Training, small group facilitating, and teaching.
Rita Hanon served in the women's ministry as a teacher, mentor, Breakaway volunteer staff, and the Titus woman for MOP's ministry.
She is also involved in the "JBU Pastor's Wives Conference" ministry which Jill Briscoe began in 2004.
As a couple, Dwayne and Rita
have been small group facilitators, speakers at marriage retreats and have taught numerous couple and marriage enrichment courses in
addition to a course to better understand the Bible.
In 1996 Dwayne had a clear call by God to develop a pastors retreat center.
He and Rita ran a retreat center in Wisconsin for 4 1/2 years. With God's leading during this time they developed the self directed,
'non program' that is being used today.
From 2001 to the present the Hanon's, through Broom Tree Ministries,
continue offering free retreats to pastor couples in various locations so that the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ may be strengthened.
In their ministry they have hosted over 3,000 guests who came from 35 states, 10 countries and 92 denominations.
The Hanon's are highly qualified to minister to the needs of pastor couples within the framework of the outlined program.
Their performance has been evaluated by each of the guests attending the retreat and the overwhelming consensus is that the Hanon's
are ideally suited to act as host and hostess and guide the program; plus their wisdom, compassion and ability to discern and meet the
needs of the guests.
Their responsibility is basic program delivery and overseeing the operation of the retreats and retreat
center. They will be responsible for the selection of additional host couples in the future. Additionally, the Hanon's over
see the marketing and promotion of Broom Tree Ministries and are responsible for fund raising,
which they now do personally.
From 2006 to the present they serve in one of Elmbrook's daughter churches;
Westbrook in Delafield, Wisconsin
