Joycelyn and her husband, Pastor Walter Henderson III, are the parents of 6 adult
children, Nicole, Angela, Antoinette, Amoyiah, Matthew and Tremaine. They also have16
grandchildren. In her words, "God miraculously saved me from myself on June 22,
1978. God delivered me from fear, anger and Joycelyn. I thank Him for the miracle."
Joycelyn worked for over sixteen years for one of the largest public utility companies
as a Customer Service Manager before coming into full-time ministry alongside her
husband in May of 1999. She was ordained as a minister operating in the Office of
Evangelist by Berean Family Worship Center Inc. October 13th 1988 and has been a
staff Chaplain in the Milwaukee county Jail ministering the Gospel for seventeen
years. She holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary,
Loris, S. C., is in the process of writing her first book due to be published sometime
this year, and authors a newsletter "Joyous Pastors’ Help meet" which is in circulation
nationwide.
Joycelyn is a Godly woman whose total dependence on Jesus spills out over every
one she meets. Her faith and prayer life make her a vessel that is strong, powerful
and seems to precede her entry into a room. It is this strength we welcomed to the
board.
